How do I get a discounted rate from Square?

2.5% rate for all new Square customers

Through our partnership with Square, we can offer new merchants a special flat rate of 2.5% for in-person card transactions. This rate is typically only available to businesses processing over $250k annually, but our partnership allows immediate access for new Square merchants.

Important: Follow These Steps in Order

  1. Fill out our referral form here:

  2. Wait for a Square account executive to contact you
  3. DO NOT create a Square account before speaking with the executive

Creating a Square account before speaking with your assigned account executive will lock in the standard rate and while we can work to get it updated, it will take longer and cannot be prorated to the date of account creation. The rate cannot be applied retroactively to existing accounts.

How to Get Started:

  1. Submit our referral form
  2. Contact MarketSquare Tech support to help expedite your case
  3. Wait for Square to contact you
  4. Work with your assigned Square executive to set up your account

Standard vs. Partnership Rates:

  • Standard Square Rate: 2.6% + 10¢ per in-person transaction
  • MarketSquare Tech Partnership Rate: 2.5% flat (no additional fee)
