Operating in this middle range ensures higher accuracy, prevents unnecessary stress on electronic components, and protects against accidental overloads.

Determine the typical weight of the items you handle most frequently. Selecting a scale with a capacity approximately double your median weight is a common industry practice to maintain precision and longevity. 
2. Select a Model Based on Capacity 
Star Micronics offers two primary series with distinct weight capacities: 

  • Our Own mG-T Series (General Retail/Bulk): Best for heavier items and high-volume environments.
    • mG-T12: Capacity up to 12 lbs. Common for mailrooms and small retail.
    • mG-T30: Capacity up to 30 lbs. Balanced for standard grocery and retail needs.
