Zebra ZD421 & ZD411 Media Calibration

Are your labels printing uncentered? You may need to calibrate your printer, and we're here to help.

Automatic (SmartCal) Calibration
  • Turn the printer on and load your media roll.
  • Press and hold the Pause and Cancel buttons together for two seconds.
  • The printer feeds a few labels to measure spacing and adjust sensing levels automatically.
  • Press the Pause button once when finished to return to ready mode.

If your labels fail smart calibration, you may need to perform a manual liner calibration.

Manual Calibration

  • Press and hold Pause for two seconds until all indicators flash yellow to enter advanced mode.
  • Press Pause again when the status light turns solid yellow to select manual calibration.
  • Open the printer and peel about 3 inches (80 mm) of labels off the liner.
  • Position the blank liner directly over the movable sensor and close the printer.
  • Press Pause once to measure the liner, then open the printer and move the media so a label sits over the sensor.
  • Close the printer and press Pause once more to measure the labels, then press Pause to save and exit.
